Turkey and North Cyprus opts out of daylight saving

Many people out there have been left confused after Turkey and the Republic of North Cyprus decided to stick with the summer time all year round by not returning to daylight-saving (DST), by not turning back the clock by an hour in the autumn following the change in time in other parts of Europe on Sunday October 31, 2016.

In our earlier report in September, read Here Turkey decided against changing time in order to make better use of daylight during the winter period.

Most of European and North America countries follows daylight time as do some parts of the Middle East, but most of Africa and Asia does not.
