Queen of England leads two-minute silence to honour war dead on remembrance day

The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth has led a two-minute silence held to honour the war dead as UK's leaders gathered at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
Also in attendance at the annual ceremony held in central London in memory of those killed in past and present conflicts was the British Prime Minister Theresa May and opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn.
 
Over 750 Armed Forces personnel were applauded by the crowd as they marched to form a hollow square around the memorial.

The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery fired their First World War-era guns as Big Ben struck 11am, to mark the beginning and end of the reflection in the heart of Whitehall before the Last Post was then sounded.

The Queen who is dressed in black, laid a wreath of poppies at the memorial for "The Glorious Dead" and was followed by Mrs May and eremy Corbyn.

Also in keeping with tradition, the Queen was joined by senior members of the royal family including the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince of Wales, who also laid wreaths.
