Pope Francis grieves the death of Atheist Revolutionary Fidel Castro

Pope Francis grieves and prays for late former Cuban leader, Fidel Castro who died on Friday November 25 at the age of 90.

Pope Francis says the death of the Cuba's revolutionary leader is "sad news" and that he's grieving and praying for his repose.

Pope Francis expressed his condolences to Fidel's brother, President Raul Castro on Saturday.

Francis said he had received the "sad news" and added: 
"I express to you my sentiments of grief."
Fidel Castro, a professed atheist, was baptised as a Catholic and educated in schools run by the Jesuits, the religious order of which the Pope is a member.

Pope Francis met Fidel Castro when he visited Cuba in 2015.
