Denver becomes the first US city to allow the use of marijuana in bars and restaurants
The US state of Denver on Tuesday became the first city in the U.S to legalize the use of marijuana in bars and restaurants, a first-in-the nation law.
The city measure permits bars and restaurants
to apply to allow marijuana use and would have to show they have neighborhood approval before
they can get weed license.
The law permits that patrons could use pot inside as long as it isn't smoked, with the possibility of outside smoking areas.
Patrons must bring their own weed.
Denver
voters approved the law, ''Proposition 300'' on the same day that eight other states, including the state of California legalized marijuana for medical or recreational purposes last week. Though supporters of the law claimed victory, and opponents conceded defeat, election official said some ballots were uncounted.
