Mother chains daughter to street pole for refusing to attend classes

Parents can sometimes go a long way to punish their children or wards for been disobedient or stubborn. But of all forms of punishment i have ever seen before, this one seems awful.

A 30-year-old mother from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia reportedly tied her daughter to to a street lamp post and left there as punishment for abstaining from school on Wednesday.

The image of the little eight-year-old girl which has gone viral on the internet shows the girl crying and nervously sucking her thumb as the mental chain tied to her ankle restricts her movement.

The girl's ordeal attracted the attention of shocked onlookers who gathered outside her family apartment and tried to free her but failed before police arrived.

 

The little girl who had been tied down for about an hour, told police that her mother had punished her for failing to go to her mandarin classes at school.

Her mother was arrested by the police for questioning and later released. 
She will be investigated for child neglect and exposing a child to physical injury.
