Millionaire activist James Otis arrested for destroying Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Millionaire activist, James Otis, 52, who admitted to smashing up Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been arrested and later released on bail on Thursday. 

James Otis, who is the heir to the Otis Elevator Company fortune, destroyed Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame which was awarded to him in 2007, with a pick-ax after he dressed up as a construction worker to fool anyone walking past.

Eexplaining his actions, Otis called the Republican presidential candidate a 'serial liar and a misogynist'.

Following his release from jail on $20,000 bail, Otis told reporters outside the LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center, that he did it to show support for women who have accused Trump of groping them.

'He's a serial liar and misogynist and that's why we're here: to try to address that and help those women who told Mr. Trump they won't stand for it anymore,' Otis said.  

According to authorities, Otis was arrested for felony vandalism and is due to appear in court on November 18. If convicted, he could be jailed for three years and fined $10,000.
