352 Migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea

352 Migrants was on Tuesday rescued in the Mediterranean sea in a rescue operation coordinated by the Italian Red Cross and the Migrant Offshore and Station (MOAS).

Among the 352 people rescued were 34 women and 3 children.


The rescued migrants are said to be from Nigeria, Syria, Togo, Niger and Pakistan.

They were transferred safely, and are now being cared for as they head back north to Sicily for disembarkation.
Another 2200 people were pulled to safety from 21 different boats that set off from Libya in another massive rescue coordinated a day earlier by the Italian Coast Guard and (MOAS).
