North Korea leader Kim Jong-un reportedly executes vice premier for sleeping

North Korea: North Korea has reportedly executed vice premier on education affairs Kim Yong Jin who was reportedly executed over the way he was seated during a meeting and two other top officials were also banished to rural areas for re-education in the latest purge to hit the secretive government, South Korean officials claim.
Since he took power in 2011, Kim Jong-un believed to be in his early 30s has carried out series of killings and dismissals. He is a well respected personality among the citizens of the country.
Neighboring country South Korea runs several intelligence organisations mostly tasked with spying on North Korea and has a mixed record on developments from the country.

Spokesman for Seoul’s Unification Ministry, Jeong Joon Hee said reports showed that Kim Yong Jin had been executed.

North Korea is described as a closed, authoritarian state with a state-controlled media that often makes it hard for outsiders, and even North Korean citizens, to know what’s happening in the government.
According to a South Korean official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, quoting office rules, said Kim was executed by firing squad in July for unspecified anti-revolutionary and factional acts.

The official added that Kim Yong Jin first investigated due to the way he seated during a June meeting attended by Kim Jong-un.

South Korea’s spy agency said Kim executed his defence chief with an anti-aircraft gun for complaining about him and sleeping during a meeting he had presided over.

According to report by The Sun Kim reportedly ordered the killing of Education minister Ri Yong Jin, after he made the mistake of dozing off as he spoke.

Jeong said Kim Yong Chol, a top ruling Workers’ Party official in charge of anti-Seoul spy operations, had also been ordered to undertake “revolutionary re-education,” in reference to the banishment at a rural collective farm or a coal mine.

Jeong said another senior party official dealing with propaganda affairs, Choe Hwi, was still on a “revolutionary re-education” program.
