Lady Gaga to perform at Super Bowl half time show in Feb.

US singer Lady Gaga will headline the US Super Bowl half time show at next year's event. The NFL on Thursday announced that the pop star would take the stage February 5, 017 at NRG Stadium in Houston.

The 30-year-old announce on her Twitter handle on Thursday that she will be performing at halftime during Super Bowl LI, set for Feb. 5, 2017.

"It's not an illusion. The rumors are true," she wrote in a tweet. "This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!"

Gaga who performed at the Super Bowl this year sang the US national anthem at the event in Santa Clara, California.
Other artists like Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Coldplay headlined the halftime show.

Gaga is scheduled to release a new album, Joanne, on October 21.
