Nigeria ranked as 7th most successful African nation at the Olympics

Sports: Nigeria has been ranked as the 7th most successful African nation at the Olympics. The list which was compiled by BBC Africa was confirmed ahead of the official opening ceremony of this year’s Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

Team Nigeria have won three gold, eight silver and 12 bronze medals in all competitions.
Kenya is the most successful African nation at the Olympic with 25 gold, 32 silver and 29 bronze medals with South Africa coming in second place and Ethiopia in third.
Completing the top ten are;
Egypt,
Morocco,
Algeria,
Zimbabwe,
Tunisia and
Cameroon.
