Meet the Rio Olympics swimmer who gives his dad the middle finger before every race

Rio: Canadian swimmer Santo Condorelli is believed to have the most bizarre superstition in the history of sport after he was again seen giving his dad the middle finger before a swimming race at the Rio Olympics. sporting history.

According to Canadian Press editor, Donna Spencer, Santo's father Joseph Condorelli told his son when he was 8 years old to start flipping him the bird.
'You've got to build your confidence yourself and say eff everybody else that you're racing,'" Condorelli told Spencer.

"He said, 'Every time you're behind the blocks, give me the finger and I'll give it back to you.'"
"It became a good ritual for both of us. He got a lot of his aggravation out with just a really simple 'Give it to the world' rather than keep it internalized,"  Joseph said.

"It calms him down on the blocks for sure."
