Manchester United beat Leicester 2-1 to win FA Community Shield

Football: Jose Mourinho began his reign as Manchester United manager with a trophy after the Old Trafford club beat last season's Premier league champions Leicester City 2:1 in the FA Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring a late header.

Jesse Lingard, had opened the scoring with a fine solo goal putting United ahead before half-time but Leicester leveled up after Marouane Fellaini's dreadful mishit back-pass allowed Jamie Vardy in to round David de Gea and score.

New summer signing Ibrahimovic, during the last 10 minutes of the game rose up to meet Antonio Valencia's cross, beating Kasper Schmeichel through the far post handing United the victory ahead of the new premier league season beginning 6 days from now.
