Iran executes nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri after he was convicted of giving top secret information to the US

Iran: Iran has executed a nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri after he was convicted of handing over “top secret” information to the United States said a judicial spokesman.
Judicial spokesman Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejeie was quoted by the Mizan Online news site as saying;
“Shahram Amiri was hanged for revealing the country’s top secrets to the enemy (US),”
Amiri showed up in the United States in 2010, one year after he disappeared in Saudi Arabia in June 2009. He was welcomed by Iranian officials on his return to Iran.

After returning to Saudi Arabia, Amiri said that he had been held in the US for more than a year after he was “kidnapped” at gunpoint by two Farsi-speaking CIA agents in the Medina, Saudi Arabia.
“America was outsmarted, since he couldn’t imagine that Iranian intelligence services knew what he was doing and how he was taken to Saudi Arabia,” Ejeie said.
