Football Paper Round: Chelsea could pay £60m for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly

Chelsea back in for Koulibaly with record bid
Chelsea's season started in dramatic fashion with a stunning late winner from Diego Costa, bringing fresh hope that they might well sneak into the title race in Antonio Conte's debut season in charge.
New additions to the squad before the end of the window are therefore vital to ensure there is no doubt they have done all they can to bounce back from last season's horror show and Kalidou Koulibaly is still the man Antonio Conte is after. With time running out in the window, the Daily Telegraph reports that the Blues will cut the posturing and simply bid £60 million for the Senegalese.

Napoli were thought to want £45m for the hulking centre-back, according to the Daily Mirror, but with Conte seemingly all in to acquire him in this window, a hefty bid could accelerate a deal.

Hart ready to leave for Everton loan
Joe Hart has taken the decision to leave Manchester City on loan, although in reality he has little choice now that Pep Guardiola has effectively made him third choice at best with the possible arrival of Claudio Bravo from Barcelona.
The Mail say Hart is ready to temporarily leave the Etihad and would prefer a move to Everton as it would mean he could remain in his Cheshire home.
The Toffees have made Maarten Stekelenburg their new No.1 after Tim Howard's departure, though the former Roma custodian is thought to be a stop-gap and Ronald Koeman would jump at the opportunity to bring Hart to Merseyside.
Inter to tempt Spurs into Vertonghen swap
Frank de Boer has only just got through the front door at Inter and he wants to stamp his mark on this Nerazzurri side by luring one of his former Ajax stars.
Spurs' Jan Vertonghen is one of his targets and the Serie A side will attempt to bring the Belgian to the San Siro by sending Marcelo Brozovic the other way, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Inter would ask for cash as well as Vertonghen, and with the Belgian's injury problems at 29 years of age and only two years remaining on his current deal, it could prove too good an opportunity for Tottenham to refuse.

Liverpool eye Dutch international Martins-Indi
After a wonderful start to the season in swatting aside a beleaguered Arsenal side, Liverpool are ready to add a late signing as they dare to dream of more than just a place in the top four.
The Mirror believes Jurgen Klopp has earmarked Bruno Martins-Indi as a new recruit, with the Dutch centre-back's versatility to play at left-back and potential to replace the disastrous Alberto Moreno appealing.
The Porto star could also arrive in order to allow Mamadou Sakho to leave, with the French international's erratic behaviour not to the liking of his German manager.
Other News
- Crystal Palace have been priced out of a move for Christian Benteke after their £23.5million bid was knocked back and with former captain Mile Jedinak's departure, fans are disgruntled.
The Sun suggests the Eagles will turn their attentions away from the beastly Belgian and instead attempt to lure Chelsea's Loic Remy to sort their goal scoring problems.

- Aston Villa have quietly slipped under the radar really, as all the fuss has been made about Newcastle and their ridiculously talented squad for the Championship.
But Roberto Di Matteo has quickly revamped his squad and Spurs' Kieran Trippier could be the latest addition as a loanee, according to the Birmingham Mail, after the former Burnley man's failure to win a regular place in Mauricio Pochettino's side.

- There could also be a big-name player exiting Villa Park though, with the Mail also reporting that Adama Traore -- barely a year on from his surprising move from Barcelona -- has had enough and has asked for a transfer.
