Emirates plane crash: Hero firefighter dies after saving 282 passengers moments before plane burst into flames
Dubai: Jasim Issa Mohammed Hassan the hero firefighter who saved 300 passengers and crew members after an Emirates plane crash landed at a Dubai international airport on Wednesday has been reported dead.
Hassan died while putting out the flames after the jet crashed and burst into flames.
All passengers and crew members on-board the Boeing 777 were safely evacuated but it has now emerged that the firefighter died after sustaining injuries during the rescue efforts.
Director of General Civil Aviation Authority Saif Al Suwaidi, said the firefighter “lost his life while saving the lives of others”.
According to reports, Mr Al Suwaidi said:
Hassan died while putting out the flames after the jet crashed and burst into flames.

According to reports, Mr Al Suwaidi said:
"I salute his ultimate sacrifice that kept many from harm’s way. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."
Hassan helped 282 passengers and 12 cabin crew escape from the burning jet alive after it crash landed at Dubai International Airport this afternoon.
Moments later, the plane exploded and burst into flames. Hassan suffered fatal injuries in the blaze.
