Emirates Airline flight crash-lands at Dubai airport

Dubai: An Emirates Airline plane, Boeing 777 carrying 300 passengers and crew members coming from India crash-landed and burst into flames at the Dubai International Airport after reportedly catching flame in mid-air on Wednesday as all passengers and crew members on board the plane escaped from the burning plane after they were evacuated to safety, authorities said.


Emerging video footage of the incident showed a tower of flame bursting out from the front of the plane with a thick black plume of smoke rising into the sky.

Emirates Airline confirmed there were 300 people on board the plane when it crash landed.

The Dubai government’s official media office reported that all passengers were “evacuated safely with no injuries reported so far”.


All departure flights from Dubai international airport were delayed until further notice, authorities said.

According to a Dubai Airports operator spokesperson,, all passengers and crew aboard flight EK521 coming from Thiruvananthapuram had been safely evacuated and emergency services were managing the situation.
