Boko Haram releases purported video of Chibok girls, demands for the release of its fighters (video)

Nigeria: Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram has released a video on YouTube purportedly showing hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls allegedly kidnapped in 2014 from their school. About 50 girls were shown in the video wearing hijab behind a Boko Haram militant who calls for the release of it's fighters in return for the release of the girls and also claiming that others had died in air strikes. See video below

Boko Haram had seized 276 school girls from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok on April 14, 2014 while fifty-seven of them managed to escape after the kidnap.

In the YouTube video, a man standing in front of the girls whose face is covered by a turban said;
"They should know that their children are still in our hands."
According to Al Jazeera's correspondent reporting from Lagos Nigeria, Ahmed Idris, he said the man in the video claimed to be Abubakar Shekau's successor.
ISIS had earlier in the month announced Abu Musab al-Barnawi as Boko Haram's new leader, replacing Shekau, who has been in charge of the group for the past seven years since the death of it's founder Mohammed Yusuf who was extra-judiciously killed by police.
 According Al Jazeera's correspondent, Idris, the speaker in the video said;
"Military air strikes had killed many of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, and he asked the parents of these girls to press the government to release the groups' fighters from prisons across Nigeria,"
"The speaker also said that 40 of the schoolgirls were married, some were killed by airstrikes and there were several injuries.
Idris also added that the speaker used the video as an opportunity to assure his comrades in prison and urging them to be resilient and assured them of their freedom in the near future.
