Bizarre as childless couple stage and attend own 'funeral'

Bosnia: A childless Bosnian couple, Dragan Maric, 61, and his 65-year-old wife Dragica have organized and attended their own funeral saying they wanted it to be an opportunity to celebrate their life with friends and family.

Maric and his wife Dragica had sent out invitations for their claimed funeral with about 200 people turning up for the event.

During the funeral ceremony at a cemetery in the northern village of Pojezdina, Dragan gave a speech about the couples' love-filled life.

The guests then moved to a traditional post-burial feast at a local restaurant where they had an all-night celebration with music and dancing.

Speaking to guest at the funeral, Dragan said;

"We do not have children so we had to organise a proper funeral for ourselves before we die'' adding that; "Our only obligation now is to die when our time comes and that is just a formality.''
