20 killed in Turkish air strike in Syria

Syria: According to a monitoring group reports, at least 20 civilians have been killed and 50 others wounded in airstrikes in northern Syria as part of a Turkish campaign which began in the area this week.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Turkish jets and artillery hit the Kurdish-held village of Jub al-Kousa, about 14 kilometres from the Syrian town of Jarabulus near the Turkish border.
The attack comes since Turkey launched its first ground offensive inside Syria on Wednesday, backing rebels who recaptured Jarabulus from the Islamic State terrorist militia.

Turkey says the operations in northern Syria are directed against both Islamic State and the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), which it considers as the Syrian branch of Kurdish rebels operating on its soil.

ISIS took control of the territory along the Syrian border since 2013, but the Kurdish, backed by US air power, began to push the group back in 2014, recovering most of the border land from the group.
