'We pay our taxes!' Internet destroys Barcelona #WeAreAllLeoMessi campaign to support Messi after tax fraud conviction
Spain: Lionel Messi was sentenced after he was found guilty of tax defrauding Spain's tax authority of €4.1m between 2007 and 2009 along side his father and was sentenced to 21 months in jail in Spain last week and was fined €2 million. See tweets below
Barcelona then launched the #WeAreAllLeoMessi campaign on Twitter to gather support for the Argentine from the club's fans across the world, but the initiative backfired.
But come to think of it, this sounds a bit weird supporting a player found guilty of tax fraud. Even Messi's fans were pissed.
