Breaking!!! : Turkey military surrenders after failed coup

Turkey: Factions of Turkish soldiers behind the attempted coup in Turkey have surrendered said Turkish officials.

A senior Turkish official reported that more than 1500 military personnel have been arrested with most of them arrested in Ankara after sections of the Turkish military staged an attempted coup which resulted to violence across Turkey.

Officials disclosed that majority of those killed in the violence were civilians.

Soldiers backing the attempted coup against the Turkish government surrendered on the Bosphorus bridge in Istanbul which they had held throughout the night.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said he had ordered the “annihilitation” of military planes hijacked by coup plotters.

Turkish President Recep Erdogan said the coup attempt “is an act of treason” and that those behind it will pay a “heavy price”.

Rebel soldiers had raided the CNN-Turk office shutting down the station but has since returned to air.

Flights to Turkey have been diverted as departures from Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport suspended.
