Turkey coup: Disturbing image shows soldiers 'bound naked' as Turkish President is warned over 'purges'

Turkey: A disturbing image shows dozens of Turkish soldiers bound together after being stripped of their uniforms following their arrest. More than 6,000 people have been arrested after Friday night's failed attempted coup in Turkey with fear growing over how they could be treated.

The photo shows how the soldiers were stripped after they were arrested in Sirnak, eastern Turkey and were then made to lie side by side.
Also there were reports that a Turkish soldier was beheaded by pro-government mob on Bosphorus bridge in Istanbul on Saturday.

Turkish authorities had on Sunday announced the arrest of more than 6,000 people involved in the attempted coup as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to purge the army.

France’s foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault on Sunday said that the failed coup in Turkey did not give President Tayyip Erdogan a “blank cheque” to bypass democratic principles.
“We want the rule of law to work fully in Turkey,”
“(The coup) is not a blank cheque for Mr Erdogan. There cannot be purges, the rule of law must work.”
