Manhattanhenge is a name given to a phenomenon occurring just before and after the summer solstice when the sun reaches its highest height in the sky, in which the sun sets in alignment with the east-west streets of the city's street grid system.

“Manhattanhenge” made its appearance for the second time this year in New York as thousands of people took out to get the best photos of the phenomenon and shared them on social media.
