Terrifying moment massive eagle swoops down and tries to drag off 7 year old boy
Australia: A 7 year old youngster was left bleeding on his face after he was attacked by a massive eagle during a wildlife birds of prey show at the
Alice Springs Desert Park, an educational facility in the Northern Territory, Central Australia last week.
The huge wedge-tailed eagle swooped on his head, latching its talons into his skull and tried to drag him awayChristine O’Connell posted the terrifying moment of the attack to Instagram, saying the eagle had become irritated by the boy’s hoodie.
She wrote:
“The young boy in the green kept pulling his zipper up and down.
“For some reason the wedge-tailed eagle did not like it and instead of flying over to the log he is meant to for a photo opportunity, he flew straight at the young boy and attacked him.
“The show was quickly cancelled and the boy taken off to first aid. Those talons are huge he was a very lucky young boy.”She added the boy was upset but the injuries were not too serious.
“He tried to pull him over – I really think with the hood on and making the noise, the bird thought it was some type of prey.”
A spokesperson for the park said the eagle would be removed from the show while the incident was investigated.
