Teenager killed by father in accidental shooting at Florida gun range
US: A 64 year old father, William 'Clayton' Brumby, has accidentally shot and killed his 14 year old teenage son, Stephen J. Brumby, at a firing range on Sunday in Florida.
According to media reports, the father was shooting with his son against a wall at High Noon Gun’s in Sarasota, Florida, a venue that boasts about its safety record, when his son was accidentally hit by a stray bullet sustaining serious injuries.
Officials said, emergency
responders rushed the boy to Sarasota Memorial hospital where he was later pronounced dead.According to media reports, the father was shooting with his son against a wall at High Noon Gun’s in Sarasota, Florida, a venue that boasts about its safety record, when his son was accidentally hit by a stray bullet sustaining serious injuries.
Police in a statement said:
“After firing a round, the spent shell casing struck the wall causing it to deflect and fall into the back of (the elder) Mr. Brumby’s shirt.
“Brumby then used his right hand, which was holding the handgun, in an attempt to remove the casing. While doing so, he inadvertently pointed the firearm directly behind him and accidentally fired.”Owners of the gun rage has offered condolences and prayers to the family of the teen killed.
