Breaking!!! Several people killed in Munich shopping centre

Germany: Several people have been killed and wounded in a shooting spree at a shopping mall in Munich, Germany on Friday evening said a Munich spokeswoman adding that a manhunt operation by the police is currently underway around the Olympia shopping mall to apprehend the shooter or shooters who were still on the run.
The city transit system has been shut down police said, urging residents to stay off public places. 


Police responded to the attack in large numbers to the shopping mall in Munich.

In a Facebook message, Munich police said;

"At 17.50 local time, reports came in about a shooting near Hanauer Street, which then progressed to Ries Street and the Olympia shopping mall,"

“At the moment no culprit has been arrested,” “The search is taking place at high speed.”

According to police, a witness reported seeing three individuals with guns near the Olympia Einkaufszentrum shopping centre.

Speaking to The Associated Press, Munich police spokeswoman Claudia Kuenzelthere said there had been “several dead and wounded” in the shooting at Olympia Einkaufszentrum mall but she could not give details about the exact numbers of casualty.

“The shooter or shooters are still on the run” either in or around the mall, she said.

The Bavarian Interior Ministry has confirmed that at least one person has been reported dead and several others wounded.

A Munich police spokesman Thomas Baumann speaking to German news agency dpa said the attack began at a fast food restaurant in the mall shortly before 6pm local time.


The attack comes just few days after a 17-year-old Afghan seeking Asylum in Germany wounded four people in an axe-and-knife attack on a regional train near Wuerzburg, and wounded another woman outside as he fled on Monday this week. The attacker was shot and killed by police.
Islamic State group later claimed responsibility for the train attack.
