Saudi billionaire dies two weeks after his supermodel ex-wife was awarded £75m in court divorce settlement

UK: 61-year-old Saudi billionaire Sheikh Walid Juffali who awarded his former 25-year-old Lebanese model wife Ms Christina Estrada £75 million in divorce settlement after she dragged him to court demanding £196 million to meet her 'reasonable needs' which includes two luxury houses, a massive clothes budget and five cars, have passed away in Zurich on Wednesday following a long battle with cancer.

Christina Estrada could now have her settlement delayed.

At the time of court proceedings, Dr Juffali, who is the chairman and heir of EA Juffali and Brothers, one of Saudi Arabia's most successful companies did not appear in court as he was in a Swiss hospital receiving treatment.
The court hearing was however brought forward due to his deteriorating health.
Mrs Justice Roberts, a High Court Family Division judge ordered Dr Juffali to pay Ms Estrada the huge sum by 4pm on Friday July 29 which could now be subjected to delay due to his passing away.
His death will not stop the payment as it is now legally binding.

Her lawyer claimed that the award becomes the biggest needs award ever to be made in an English court.

Her lawyer estimated her ex husband was worth £8 billion but Dr Juffali rejected the claims in a hand written statement that the figures was over exaggerated and then put his worth at £113.8 million. Dr. Juffali said in a statement that he had left huge majority of his wealth to his three eldest children including his daughter with Ms Estrada.

Ms Estrada told family judge Mrs Justice Roberts:
‘I am Christina Estrada.
'I was a top international model. I have lived this life. This is what I am accustomed to.’

According to a source, Ms Estrada said she's been worried about this day adding that she loved him to the end.
‘Christina had, throughout his illness, sent him messages and prayers of hope.
‘She has not thought about the settlement. Her priority is her daughter. She’s young and she’s just lost her father.’
