UK: Prince William's appearance on the front cover of the gay magazine Attitude in July is set for the records as it aims to make the issue one of the magazine's best selling issues. The Duke of Cambridge's featured on the front cover of the July edition of the UK's leading gay magazine as he spoke out against homophobic pressure.
Prince William been the first member of the Royal Family to cover for a gay publication - told Attitude:
"No one should be bullied
for their sexuality or any other reason."
A spokeswoman for the
magazine said:
"Early indications are that it will be one of our
best-selling issues and has been overwhelmingly well received.
"We have also received many letters, emails and tweets in support of this issue."
Prince William also called on young people being bullied to seek help.
"No
one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people
have endured in their lives," he said.
"The young gay, lesbian and
transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak
out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying
right now."
