Patient shoots and kills doctor before turning gun on himself in Germany

Germany: A senior dental surgeon has been shot dead by a former patient at the mouth, jaw and face surgery unit of the Benjamin-Franklin Hospital, in the southwestern district of Steglitzin Berlin, Germany before turning the gun on himself on Tuesday.

The doctor was rushed to the hospital but died about two hours later after the attack due to his injuries.
A police spokeswoman said;

“According to preliminary information, a patient at the hospital shot a doctor and then killed himself,” adding that there was “no indication this was a terror attack”.

In a report by RT, Police said no one else was wounded in the shooting and they believe the gunman acted alone.

According to the Tagesspiegel newspaper, a witness said the shots were fired on the fourth floor of the building.

“I was stood in front of the main entrance, when suddenly it was approached by a large number of police,” the witness said.

“Heavily-armed officers have secured all entrances. Also, the special police task force is at the scene.”

The main building of the compound was evacuated, with employees and visitors “led calmly out of the building.”
