Nigerian teenage boy stabbed to death in London
Orebiyi was chased by a gang of youth on bicycles after a fight had broken out nearby, who then attacked him in front of horrified tourists and passers-by after fleeing from the gang on bikes.
According to reports, Orebiyi a sixth form student studying A levels at Chelsea Academy was attacked at Portobello Road just few yards from busy pubs and restaurant where he collapsed and bled to death.
Staff and customers from the near-by Portobello Star pub rushed to help him as he tottered down the street before the arrival of police and paramedics, including an air ambulance but he was pronounced dead at the scene after failed attempt by paramedics and doctors to save his life.
Police have launched investigation into his death, but no arrests have yet been made.
According to witness Mark Gettleson;
'People saw him fall down and try to get to his feet again,' 'Police and paramedics tried to resuscitate him for a long time, they did everything they could.'
He added: 'It’s absolutely tragic another young man has died on our streets.'Another neighbor added:
'There were lots of kids gathering around the area on bikes before it happened.An elderly woman, said:
'I was watching TV when I heard an awful commotion downstairs.Cousin to the victim said Fola’s mother, who lives near-by, was devastated by the news of his death.
"All we have been told is that he was stabbed in the neck ... His mum is distraught. we are all struggling to understand what happened.
''There has been an outpouring of love for him because he was genuinely like that, he was a person people wanted to know and be around."
"I can’t speak to anyone at the moment."
