Niger Delta Avengers blow up Eni Pipeline in Bayelsa, Nigeria
Nigeria: The Niger Delta Avengers militants group in Nigeria Niger Delta region
have on Friday morning blew up the Nembe 1, 2 and 3 trunkline,
an oil pipeline owned by the Italian oil giant, Eni, a subsidiary of
Nigerian Agip Oil Company.
In a statement posted on its website and signed by spokesperson,
Brig. Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, the group said;
The attack on the oil pipeline in Yenagoa, was also confirmed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDC) throught its spokesman Desmond Agu.
Desmond Agwu said the attack occurred at the pipeline at Lasukugbene and that NDSC officers exchanged gunfire with some of the militants.
The group also stated that it had shut down all its social media accounts as a result of fraudsters operating in their name adding that it will now be communicating with members of the public through its website.
“At about 3:00 am (0200 GMT) to 5:00 am, the Niger Delta Avengers blew up Nembe 1, 2 and 3 trunkline in Bayelsa/Rivers states,”
The attack on the oil pipeline in Yenagoa, was also confirmed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDC) throught its spokesman Desmond Agu.
Desmond Agwu said the attack occurred at the pipeline at Lasukugbene and that NDSC officers exchanged gunfire with some of the militants.
“Reports from the swamp area indicate that… a gang of heavily armed youths with two double 200-horsepower speedboats used explosives to blast three different points,” he said.
The group also stated that it had shut down all its social media accounts as a result of fraudsters operating in their name adding that it will now be communicating with members of the public through its website.
