Mother post beating her daughter on Facebook Live; Get Americans talking

US: A mother identified as Shanavia Miller has caused social media row and divided the United States after she live broadcasted herself beating her 16-year-old daughter Nia in a Facebook Live video over the weekend for allegedly acting as a “thot.”

Miller took over her daughter Nia’s Facebook page and posted the video that showed her continually beating and shouting abuse at her daughter.

At one point, Nia withdrew into another room, but her mother seems to order the cameraman to follow her where she proceeded with the beatings.
Miller shouted at Nia as she cries and hold her hands to her face
“You nasty as hell,”
Miller has seen a photo of her daughter Nia posing provocatively in a towel next to a boy, a photo she think was taken in her Savannah, Georgia home which prompted the beating.
Miller was shocked her daughter was posting such private details of herself on social media.
“That’s my f***ing Facebook page now,” Miller yelled to the camera.
“Now, I’m gonna need you all to send this viral. Please share this, cause I’m not done. More to come.
“You got me f***ed up. Acting like a clown. Look at you, everybody see you now, Look at you. Look at you,” Miller yelled as she direct the camera to her daughter’s face.
“You think that sh*t's cute. You forget I know motherf***ers. Did you forget that? It’s social media. You got me looking bad like I ain’t no good mother f***ing parent. I do my best! I do my f***ing best!”
After the whole drama on Facebook live, Miller who has not been charged appears to post a message on Nia's Facebook page saying;
“I love my daughter with all my heart.” But she says her daughter won’t “disrespect me.”
Nia herself in another post later tried to explain that she had not informed mother she was already engaging in sex and was “gonna wait a couple days to see how I was gone tell her”.
According to Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, Nia told them she feels safe in the home.
Spokeswoman for the department Darnisha Green, told The Washington Post.
“Our special victims unit looked into the case and officers talked to the mother and daughter,”
“Although the daughter said she felt safe in the home, the case has been referred to the Department of Family and Children Services.”
Police spokesman Sonny Cohrs said there were no charges at this time.

Many have criticized Miller for her actions, while others takes side with her believing children need stern discipline to learn valuable life lessons.
