“To try and win every game, for City to play a way people can be proud.”
“At the end what I want is after the season the fans and the people who love football can be enjoy what we do and be proud, that is the most important thing.
“Maybe we will achieve titles but if the people are not proud there is no point.”
Pep: “I know them I’ve played against City in the last few years many times, I know their quality but they have to show me again.
What they did in the past is the past. People don’t come here to remember what we did we are here to try again.”Fan from Twitter: “Will you change your tacts for the PL?”
Pep: “I cannot demand something from the players they are not able to give us so it is impossible. I love football and I love the way I feel and day by day I will get to know the players and they have to know me.”How he will deal with his players at City...
“First I have to meet my players, speak with them, hug them, kick their arse, and after ...I am dying to know them. I have an idea, but I need time.Pep on the Premier League:
“I have no preconceptions at all about coming to England or the football in the Premier League. I want to learn as much as possible. “I have an idea of how we will play, but when I arrived in Germany with Bayern Munich, I had some ideas of how the team would play but changed them as I went along.”
“I know how hard the Premier League is and some people have said that I will find it hard to play the football I like to play in England so I said to myself ‘Why not?’ That’s why I’m here - because I want to try.Pep on being the gaffer
“We have to find a way to win and if we win one game, the next week we will say ‘OK, let’s try and do the same things this week’ – and if we win again, we’ll say, ‘let’s do the things that won us those two games’ and so on.
“I’ve been told that it will be hard to do that in the Premier League but we did it at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and people may say, ‘Yes, that’s because it was Barcelona and Bayern – it won’t be possible to do that in England’ and I just say OK, let’s try.”
“One of my dreams was to play here as a footballer. It was not possible. Now my dream has come true. “People don’t come to the stadium to see how good the managers are.”On Messi:
“No, he will stay at Barca for the rest of his career.”On the Premier League:
“I have no preconceptions at all about coming to England or the football in the Premier League. I want to learn as much as possible.”On dealing with his players:
“A hug and kick their a****.”On playing the kids:
“I grew up in one of the best academies in the world in Barcelona so one of the reasons I decided to come here is because I knew how good they are working with young players here.”On his reputation:
“I have proven myself in Barcelona and in Germany and after I want to prove myself here with my staff and the amazing players City have.”And finally a little pop at Jose:
