Man United vs. Man City International Champions Cup game cancelled

Football: The International Champions Cup ICC clash between Manchester United and Manchester City at the Bird's Nest stadium has been cancelled due to concerns over the state of the pitch.

Beijing has been hit heavy rainfall in recent days and another major downpour overnight has led to the pitch at the 80,000-capacity ground being deemed unplayable.

In a tweet from Manchester United it indicated that the decision head been made between the tournament organisers and the Manchester clubs.   
Due to recent weather events, tournament organisers & participating clubs have decided to cancel tonight's International Champions Cup game.
In a statement by City on Monday morning, it said:
"Due to recent weather events, tournament organisers and participating clubs have made the decision to cancel tonight's International Champions Cup fixture to be played in Beijing tonight, 25 July.
"Further details and statements will follow."
The playing turf was infected with fungus with torrential rain in Beijing has washing away the turf.
