The attacker sent bizarre messages at the time of the attack according to reports.
Satoshi had maintained a Twitter account under the Japanese name "Satoshi" said Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun.
Satoshi sent the last tweet at about 2:50am local time on July 26, just after an employee at the Tsukui Yamayurien facility had called the police.
The tweet reads:
In his confession, Uematsu reportedly told police he wanted to "get rid of the disabled from this world".
CCTV footage acquired by the Japan News Network showed Uematsu allegedly speeding in a black Honda car to the venue at 1.37am.
The footage then showed him running out of the compound and driving away at 2.50am
According to sources at Tsukui Yamayurien, Uematsu was seen earlier this year giving out fliers near the facility that reads;
Police said they have arrested a 26-year-old man who was a former staff member and has confessed to the stabbings.
The suspect reportedly escaped the facility but then turned himself in.
