The threat comes as British churches beefed up security in Churches amid a new terror alert after two ISIS knifemen forced a elderly French priest to kneel before slitting his throat on camera on Tuesday.

A nun who escaped from the church at the time of the attack said Father Jacques Hamel, 85, was forced to get on his knees before he was brutally butchered at the Church of the Gambetta in Normandy France.

British counter-terror police have “circulated specific advice” to all churches across the UK amid fears of a similar attack.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said:
“Following recent events in France, we are reiterating our protective security advice to Christian places of worship and have circulated specific advice today.
“We are also taking this opportunity to remind them to review their security arrangements as a precaution.
adding that  “There is no specific intelligence relating to attacks against the Christian community in the UK.
“However, as we have seen, Daesh and other terrorist groups have targeted Christian as well as Jewish and other faith groups in the West and beyond. While the threat from terrorism remains unchanged at severe we urge the public to be vigilant.”
