Syria: Three Islamic State fighters who dressed in full black veils disguising as women were reportedly
caught by opposition forces while attempting to flee Manbij, Syria. The
men attempted to mix in with civilians escaping Manbij, after coalition forces issued a 48 hours ultimatum to leave the strategic city. See video below
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday published footage of the three men online, which includes mostly Kurdish fighter.
The video shows the three men sitting in front of the opposition fighters, with their faces covered.
They were then seen walking with their face veils removed, and finally undress to their underwear. According to Storyful news verification service, as stated by Middle East Eye, one of the captured fighters confessed that he was a sniper,
The arrest comes after the Manbij Military Council (MMC) also part of the SDF on Thursday gave IS fighters a 48 hours ultimatum to leave the city with their “individual weapons” saying that was their last opportunity to escape alive.
