Indonesia most wanted terrorist Santoso who pledged allegiance to ISIS reportedly killed

Indonesia: Indonesia most wanted terrorist Santoso, who real name is Abu Wardah is believed to have been killed during a firefight with police far inside the jungle of Poso in Central Sulawesi late Monday said Indonesian authorities.
Authorities say his death has not yet been confirmed until DNA tests are carried out.

Santoso a former book seller before he became a terror leader has been on Indonesia's most wanted list for some time as more than 2000 military personnel and police have been on a manhunt to capture him in the highly densed forest region where he had long played a game of cat and mouse with security forces.

Officials are confident the man they shot dead is Santoso, due to the physical appearance and a distinctive mole on his forehead.

Santoso pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2014 and dubbed himself the “commander of Islamic State’s army in Indonesia”.

Santoso since 2012 has lead a group known as the East Indonesia Mujahidin or MIT in a series of deadly attacks against police and other minor targets but has not been directly linked to any of the most recent attacks in Indonesia.
