Indian air force plane disappears off radar, decleared missing

Indian: An Indian air force plane carrying 29 people on board have gone missing after it went off radar on its way to Port Blair, capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Friday said an Indian air force spokesman.

In a statement by the Indian air force Wing Commander Anupam Banerjee, he said;
“A search operation is on. The plane was airborne at 8.30am local time and was supposed to land at Port Blair at 11:30.”
The spokesman said;
The last contact with the plane, which was carrying service personnel and six crew members, was made around 15 minutes after takeoff from the southern Indian city of Chennai.
A search party including surveillance aircraft, navy and coastguard ships have been launched to search for the Russian-built AN-32 military transport aircraft, which is believed to have disappeared over the Bay of Bengal.
