Japanese ex-boxer jailed for cutting man's penis and flushing it away

Japan: A 25 year old former Japanese boxer, Ikki Kotsugai has been jailed for chopping off the penis of his wife's lover with a pair of garden shears before flushing it down the toilet in August 2015.

Kotsugai who was a law student at Keio University Law School in Minato, Tokyo carried out the 'brutal' attack when he burst into the office of a lawyer who had an affair with his wife.

According to court judge at the Tokyo District Court, Kotsugai, became provoked after he had wrongly believed his wife had been forced to sleep with her boss at a legal firm, when in truth the affair was mutual.

But Kotsugai's wife had lied to him that she was forced to have sex with the lawyer. 

Kotsugai was on Tuesday, sentenced to four years and six months by presiding judge Kazunori Karei.
Mr Karei told the court;  

“An irreparable injury has been sustained,” calling the crime “extremely dangerous and vicious”.

Kotsugai apologised to the victim, who also apologised for having the affair with his wife.
