Cambodian government critic shot dead
Cambodian: Kem Ley who is the head of grassroots advocacy group ''Khmer for Khmer'' and a critic of the Cambodian government has been shot dead in the country's capital on Sunday.
The anti-government figure was shot three times at a petrol station store in Phnom Penh just at the time of increasing political tension between Prime Minister Hun Sen and an opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) which want to take on power in coming elections next year.

Spokesman for the National Military Police, Eng Hy, said "Kem Ley was shot dead,"
Ley body lay in a pool of blood on the floor of the store, as crowd gathered outside.
According to his wife Pou Rachana;
"I don't know what happened, somebody just called me and said that he's shot," "He's already dead," she added.Kem Ley who is a popular political commentator had been critical of Hun Sen's administration, having recently spoken about a report by anti-corruption pressure group Global Witness which accused the prime minister and his family of having accumulated $200 million in business interests.
