Wow! Wife of State Governor takes a waitressing job to supplement her husband's salary

US: The wife of a State Governor, Ann LePage has stunned people when she decided to take a job as a waitress because her husband's income is fairly low.

Ann LePage, whose husband is the Republican Governor of Maine and the lowest paid governor in the US, took a job as a waitress few weeks ago to augment her husband's $70,000 annual salary confirmed Governor Paul Lepage during a recent town hall meeting in Maine

The family who live with their dog, in the Augusta governor's mansion, acquired a $215,000 Boothbay home two years ago.

According to Ann LePage, being a waitress is something she had "always wanted to do."

She said she spent years looking after her mother, who passed away in October 2015 after she long suffered from scleroderma.

She said, it's not time to follow through on her interest, (her mother) adding that: "I know she'd be proud of me." 

LePage, who works three days a week and requesting for more work time in order to make more money, says she's saving up to buy a Toyota RAV4.

She said:

 "Because of who I am and who I'm married to, I want to work extra hard just so I can show them I can do the job," she said.

 According to her, she doesn't tell customers, or co-workers, who she is unless they ask because she wants to be treated like every normal worker with no preferential treatment.
