Two die, 100 homes destroyed in California wild fire

US: Two people have been confirmed dead and over 100 buildings destroyed as a fast moving fire that started on Thursday afternoon engulf central California, authorities say. Officials are contemplating whether to extend evacuation orders to the rural parts of the state.

Three fire fighters were been hospitalized for inhaling smoke from the Erskine Fire said officials.

The fire outbreak has led hundreds of residents to evacuate the area and the Kern County Fire Department on Friday also confirmed the death of two people.

Flames from the fire were aided by extremely dry vegetation from a five year California drought and high temperatures that was likely to exceed 32 degrees Celsius on Friday

Over a hundred buildings has been destroyed, including homes, outbuildings and removable garages with about 1500 building under threat.
Authorities said the estimated magnitude of the fire moved from 3237 hectares early Friday morning to more than 7689 hectares before noon local time.
Authorities on Friday issued a warning to more than 3000 residents of Lake Isabella community on the shore of a reservoir to be prepare for evacuation.
A government tracking website InciWeb revealed that more than 600 firefighters was battling the blaze with hundreds more on the way.

The fire has burnt over 2266 hectares of vegetation and fields as of Friday and restriction lines were drawn around 30 per cent of its perimeter, according to InciWeb.
