Prince's favourite guitar sold at auction
Celebrities: Prince's
favorite guitar was sold at an auction in Beverly Hills on Saturday.
The yellow cloud electric guitar used by Prince in numerous concerts
until the mid 90s was purchased by Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay.
The NFL football team owner and collector of musical instruments acquired the solid body guitar for $US137,500.
Irsay in the past also bought musical instruments once owned by musicians which includes Jerry Garcia of Grateful Dead, John Lennon and Ringo Star of The Beatles and singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
The auction which was carried out by Heritage Auctions, says the guitar was Prince's favourite from the 1980s to the mid-1990s.
Other Prince related memorabilia also appeared at the auction.
Prince died on April 21 at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota as a result of an accidental overdose of fentanyl.
