Police quell English fans with tear gas and pepper spray in Lille as more fans continues to clash

France: At least one person has been injured as French police fired tear gas and charged English fans as fighting broke out among fans in Lille on Wednesday. See more photos of fan riot after the cut
Fans were also involved in a fight on a train heading to Lille where English fans have assembled ahead of their key match against Wales on Thursday.
Hundreds of supporters stayed in the streets after the incident, drinking beer as anti-riot police watched on.
According to French security official,
“There was a fight between England and Wales fans. It was quite violent,” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.,
French authorities in Lille say police have arrested 16 people so far on Wednesday, including six Russians involved in violence last Saturday in Marseille.
five other persons were arrested for public drunkenness on the train travelling from Calais to Lille.
 
 In a separate incident, a large group of fans were gathered at the Place des Reignaux when officers used the spray and let off a canister. 
Fans were seen holding their shirts over their mouths and left the scene with reports suggesting that trouble erupted when England and Wales fans were heard singing "F*** off Russia, we're England and Wales." 

Stan Collymore reported that a stampede occurred after Russian fans threw a firework towards English fans.
