Orlando shootings: Omar Mateen gay lover says attack was act of revenge

US: A Hispanic gay man Miguel, who said he had sexual relationship with ex-lover and Orlando shooter Omar Mateen claimed Mateen was furiously angry after he discovered he'd had sex with an HIV-positive man.

Miguel said he met Omar mateen on dating app Grindr before they became friends with benefits meeting up to 20 times at an Orlando hotel, Florida in a relationship that lasted only two months

“I’ve cried like you have no idea,”  “But the thing that makes me want to tell the truth is that he didn’t do it for terrorism.”

Miguel said Mateen was a heavy drinker and a demented man who was attracted to Latinos but felt rejected by them. Miguel said Mateen nurtured resentment towards Puerto Rican men over his sexual relationships with them after he learned that one of the two Puerto Rican men he had threesome with was HIV positive. 

Miguel said in spite of tests proving negative, Mateen feared with time a correct result will show up, so he wanted to 'make them pay'.

"He hate gay Puerto Ricans for all the stuff they did to him," he said. "I believe this crazy horrible thing he did was for revenge."

Miguel also said Mateen looked 'adorable' and 'sweet', adding that Mateen 'loved to be cuddled... he loved to be embraced'.
Some regular visitors at Pulse gaynight club told the press that Mateen comes to the club frequently and that they recognized him from gay dating sites.
