Orlando shootings: Human 'Angels' protect Orlando funeral from anti-gay protesters

US: About 200 group of people in Orlando have dressed as angels in counter protest, to protect the the funeral service of one of the Orlando shooting victims Christopher Leinonen on Saturday against a group of protesters (an anti-gay organization with about 40 members well known for its hate speeches and funeral protests) of Westboro Baptist Church.

Suzanne Draper, among the people dressed in the Angelic attire said;

"I think our presence here is just to show support for the families of the victims and we want to make sure that we're an ally," 

Another counter demonstrator, Wesley Wizner said that;

"We originally made it as large as possible because we didn't know the location, we wanted to make sure we could block the signs."

"We just intended to make sure we were showing as much support as possible and they [anti-gay protesters] were running into as large of an opposition as we could create," he added.

The group is known for its homophobic protests, which include turning up at ceremonies displayig signs with derogatory signs aimed at “fags”.
On its “Godhatesfags” website, the group hailed the massacre, which it regarded as divine retribution for what it regards as the sin of homosexuality.
