Mark Zuckerberg builds massive wall around his $100million property, angers neighbours
Kauai: Facebook billionaire owner Mark
Zuckerberg is building a large stone wall around his £75 million Kauai property on
the Hawaiian island which has angered residence as it blocks the view of the ocean.
Zuckerberg acquired the 750 acre retreat in 2014 and then bought up another two areas of land including the 393 acre Pila’a beach.
He has now began the building of a wall made from locally sourced stone, but residents are angry, describing the construction as an eyesore.

A resident, Gy Hall who lives on the island said;
“The feeling of it is really oppressive. He went on:
“It’s immense.
“It’s really sad that somebody would come in, and buy a huge piece of land and the first thing they do is cut off this view that’s been available and appreciative by the community here for years.”
“They put some boards up, so you can see the future projection of the wall and what it will cut off.
“It’s quite dramatic because you can see all the pasture land and ocean underneath the boards.”Some neighbors claim they've tried reaching out to Zuckerberg, but to no avail.
Another neighbour, Donna Mcmillen said: “I’m super unhappy about that.
“I know that land belongs to Zuckerberg.
“Money is no option for him.
“I’m 5’8” and when I’m walking, I see nothing but wall.
“It just doesn’t fit in with the natural beauty that we have here.
“There are people on the island who money can pay for anything.
“These kind of things that they do take away what Kauai is all about.”
Let him raise it into the sky
