Magnitude 5.5 quake hits near Chile's copper mining area
Chile: The US Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.5 quake has struck near Chile's copper mining area in the north of Chile.
The USGS added that the earthquake, located 187km north of the city of Copiapo, was relatively deep, 130km below the earth's surface. Chile is the world's largest producer of copper with the country located in the earthquake-prone Ring of Fire.
