Lightning kills 56 people in Indian

India: At least 56 people has been killed by lightning in Bihar, India in the last 24 hours announced India state official on Wednesday. Majority of the victims were farm laborers working in fields, across the state.

24 others were also wounded when 14 district of the state was hit by thunderstorms and monsoon rains.
An officials of disaster management, Vyasji, on Wednesday said a number of cattle also died after being struck by lightning.
Vysaji added that, 8 shepherds watching their sheep were among the victims.

Lightning strikes are common during India's monsoon season, which lasts from June to September.
